HEY GUYS, I HAVE ANOTHER TERRIFIC BOOK FOR YOU TODAY! BELOW IS MY REVIEW OF A LOVE SONG FOR THE SAD MAN IN THE WHITE COAT BY ROE HORVAT. AND I LOVE IT!
THIS QUOTE IS RIGHT ON FOR THIS BOOK, HERE IS MY REVIEW:
A Love Song For The Sad Man In The White Coat
by: Roe Horvat
reviewed by: Becky
Simon had always expected love to feel different than this. Whether it was his Catholic upbringing or the poetry he'd read - Simon had thought that true love would be uplifting, fulfilling, that it would give a meaning to his loitering, and add joy to his leisure. But not this kind of love. This love was a flesh-eating monster, sharp-clawed and evil-eyed, ravishing his mind with medieval cruelty.
Dr Simon Mráz is a respected specialist and lecturer at the Charles University in Prague. He is a serious man, responsible. His students call him The Cruel Doctor Frost not because he's unkind, but because of his unwavering, ice-cold composure. As a psychiatrist, he values sanity. And sanity can be found in work, restraint, and self-control.
Not many know of that one time in the past when The Cruel Doctor Frost lost his cool. His ill-advised, secret affair with a student left Simon deeply wounded. Since that day, every minute of Simon's life has been a struggle to remain sane, functioning. He's managed so far - as long as he is needed, as long as his work makes a difference, Simon can scrape together enough strength to get up in the morning and run off the nightmares. But when his friends begin drifting away, his beloved protégé becomes independent, and the man who bereaved Simon of his precious sanity might return... Simon's mind and body stop responding to his impressive willpower.
I am in love with not only this book, but the style it is written! You see into the inner workings of a broken man, and you just want to put him together again!
Simon has turned off, what I mean is, he functions, he goes about his daily routine, he even dates, but emotionally, he is broken. What will happen if the man who broke him comes back into the picture?
Simon does a lot of working through in this book, working through why Matej left him, why he would return, and what this means for his future. What you get when you read this book is great writing and a story that will stick with you long after you read the words The End!

THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT FOR JUDE! HERE IS MY REVIEW:
And If I Fall
by: Robin Reardon
reviewed by: Becky
Jude Connor's rural Idaho hometown is a place of strong values and high expectations. For those who fit into the local church's narrow confines, there's support and fellowship. For those who don't, there's ostracism in this life and damnation in the next.
Jude wants desperately to be saved--to believe with the fervor of the charismatic Reverend Amos King, whose sermons are filled with brimstone and righteousness. But every time Jude thinks he's found the right path, there's a fork in the road, and Truth seems to be in a different direction.
As much as Jude craves the certainty the church offers, he finds himself at odds with it. Without intentionally rebelling, he befriends Pearl Thornton, considered an unrepentant heathen; he craves the support of Gregory Hart, whose church standing is questionable; and the feelings he has for his friend Tim Olsen make him fear for his own soul. But then Reverend King offers Jude sanctuary, special guidance, and a path into the Light.
Will Reverend King be able to help Jude preserve his place in heaven? Or will the reverend's own demons cause hell to swallow them both? The answer lies in Jude's willingness to follow his own path--even if it leads him far from everything he's known.
This book is like every other Robin Reardon book, you get an entertaining story, but you also get a story that will make you think. And If I Fall is a story about self discovery and making your own path, and in some way, be it big or small, everyone can relate to this story.
Jude is active in his local Church, which has very strong ideas about how a person should act and right and wrong. Can Jude come to terms with things about him that don't measure up to the teachings of the Church?
When someone very influential in his life falls from grace how will Jude deal with it? Will he hide the parts about himself that society says are wrong? Or will he learn that being who you are meant to be, though hard, is so very worth it?
You will fall in love with a few of the supporting characters in this book, and you will cheer Jude on in his path to self discovery for sure! I love this story and you will too!

Needing a change of scene, Griffin Burke moves from Brisbane to Coolum Beach to start a new job. The beautiful white sand, aqua-colored ocean, blue skies, and summer breezes are everything he longs for. What he finds is a mud-covered dog, lost and hungry, with a nametag and a phone number.
Dane Hughes is stuck in Surfers Paradise at a week-long work conference when he gets a phone call from his distraught mother. His dog, his fur baby, Wicket, has run away. Unable to leave and feeling helpless and miserable, he gets a text from a guy. “I think I found your dog…”
Griffin and Dane start talking, and Griffin agrees to look after Wicket until Dane can collect him. With a few days left before his new job starts, Griffin takes Wicket on some coastal adventures and sends Dane photos of their fun, and so the start of something new and kind of wonderful begins.
Griffin might have moved to Coolum in search of a new life, but what he finds is so much more. What he gets to keep just might take some four-legged help.
Man oh man did I enjoy this book, this is the best book I have read in a while! Griffin has just moved to a new town for a new job and he is looking forward to the challenges of the change. What he doesn't count on is some four legged help in the love department, but that is exactly what he gets when he finds a lost dog.
Dane is at a work retreat when he is informed his beloved dog Wicket is lost. When he gets a phone call from the guy who found his dog he is shocked at all the ways that one call changes his life!
In this book you will get amazing chemistry between these two men, and as an added bonus you will meet Griffin's delightful landlady and her 'man friend'!
All of these things add up to a story that it is going to be hard to knock off my fave book throne!

THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT FOR THIS BOOK! HERE IS WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT PLAY BY THE RULES!
Play By The Rules
by: Frey Ortega
reviewed by: Becky
It was just supposed to be an interview.
It was just supposed to be one morning.
It was just supposed to be a memory...
How did it end up like this?
Sensitive and melodramatic Emmett Yang has had enough of the dating world. Enter Joe Kaminski, former quarterback--driven, determined, recently out of the closet--and knows exactly who he wants. That just happens to be Emmett.
Emmett is convinced that their chance meeting is just a one-time thing: a memory to be cherished. He doesn't think that Joe would ever really want to be with him. After all, he's...him, and Joe is Joe. He's nowhere near Joe's nebula, and there are rules and norms and mores to be followed about this sort of situation, none of which end with Joe and him together.
But can the former quarterback show Emmett that there are no rules in love?
Frey Ortega has done it again! I love this book, and Joe and Emmett are explosive together! The way Emmett evolves in this story is amazing and it makes for great reading!
Emmett is a virgin who feels like he will never have the things he wants in life, including a man who loves him just the way he is. When he has chemistry with Joe, an ex football star, will he let it happen, or will his hangups put the brakes on what could possibly be his future?
Joe wants Emmett, but can he handle what comes with taking Emmett to bed? These two will have you glued to the page for sure! I love this book as much as I love every other book by this author!

THIS BOOK SOUNDS GREAT RIGHT? AND THAT COVER...YUMMY! HERE IS WHAT I THOUGHT OF HIS PERSONAL ASSISTANT!
THIS IS THE PERFECT QUOTE FOR THIS BOOK, HERE IS MY REVIEW!
Honestly, I am thrilled with this book and the thing is, I didn't know if I was going to be. I love this author and her style is amazing, so I should have known that she would put an amazing story behind the Boss/Assistant story
Kade and Luke are so different that when they get together it sets the page on fire! The chemistry between these two from the time they meet is amazing, and you will find yourself drawn into the story just like I was!
There are secrets and pasts best left forgotten between these two, but the attraction is there and that should be enough to get them over the hurdles right? What if I told you there may be someone who has made it their goal in life to see that these two don't work out..and that is just the tip of the iceberg!
You have got to read this story for yourself, it is amazing! I am already itching for book 2!
the 5 fireworks rating!!
YES GUYS THIS RATING IS PERFECT, TRUST ME! NOW FOR AN EXCERPT!
I brushed an errant piece of fluff off my shoulder, straightened the hem of my shirt, and took a deep breath. Not that it did much good. By the time the elevator doors opened on the tenth floor, my nervousness was at an all-time high.
With less than a minute to spare, I stepped inside the plush, modern offices and was met by the sight of a striking woman sitting behind a large reception desk. Though she appeared business-like, what didn’t make sense was the way she seemed ready to pounce the second she saw me. I was surprised she didn’t fall flat on her face, considering she wore a pencil-thin black skirt and high-heeled shoes and was on her feet and running toward me like a crazy person.
“Thank God you’re here!”
“Um, what?” I took a wary step backward. She was kinda scary.
“Please tell me you’re Kade Hutchins.”
“Oh. Yes, I am.”
She held out her hand and when I took it in mine, I was impressed by her firm, assured grip. “You have no idea how relieved I am to see you.”
“Uh, thanks?” The warm smile she gave in response caused her round, hazel eyes to sparkle, while her hospitable attitude made me feel at ease in an instant. As she released her grasp, I couldn’t help but grin back
“The name’s Kimberly O'Connell. I’m the paralegal around here.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Ms. O’Connell.”
“Oh, please, call me Kimberly.”
She pointed a manicured finger at the closed office door located behind the desk. “Come on, Kade. Let’s get you in to see His Highness.” Covering her mouth, she giggled. I stopped myself from joining in, but it wasn’t easy. She had an infectious laugh.
“Luke Preston. The ass you spoke to on the phone.”
“Oh.” I didn’t know whether it was appropriate to agree with her or not, but decided it would be best to err on the side of caution.
“Sorry about him, by the way.” Kimberly knocked, before lowering her voice to a faint whisper, and adding, “I had no idea he was going to answer the phone when I went to make his coffee. He usually lets the machine pick up, but I didn’t think to switch it on since I was only going to be gone a few minutes.”
The moment I let out a quiet chuckle, the door to Luke Preston’s office flew open.
Tall and broad-shouldered, he had a strong jaw, high cheekbones, and dark brown hair slicked back so not a lock was out of place. That, coupled with the way his body filled out the navy suit he wore, made Luke Preston look more like a model than a lawyer. My guess was that he was in his mid-thirties, but holy shit, did he wear it well. Startling emerald eyes fringed by long, dark lashes stared at me with such intensity that, for a split second, I forgot to breathe. His sharp features were softened by flawless, pale skin and full lips, and I wondered what they would feel like pressed against my own. In that briefest of moments, I knew I was in trouble as my head began waging a war with my heart so fierce, I didn’t know whether to pull him in for a kiss or run for my life.
All I could do was wait for him to say something… anything to break the tension.
GRAB THIS BOOK NOW GUYS, AND READ ON TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS AMAZING AUTHOR AND WHERE YOU CAN FIND HER!
L. J. HARRIS is a mother, wife, an introvert and author. Her family is her life, her soul, and the very reason she gets out of bed every day. Coming a close second is her writing.
She discovered a passion for putting pen to paper in her later years, jotting down poems in birthday cards for family members.
It was then a spark was lit, and ever since, she's been unable to switch off the urge to share her stories.
L.J. Harris discovered that as much as experiencing pain, loss and betrayal can be devastating, capturing the feelings of anguish and loss that some of her characters have had to endure without firsthand knowledge would have proved difficult.
L.J. has been previously published and has shared several online stories and looks forward to continuing to share her work. She can be found at:

HEY GUYS, I AM HERE WITH MY REVIEW OF BOOKS 2 & 3 OF THE LIVING ART SERIES BY RIVER MITCHELL! LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT I THOUGHT OF THESE BOOKS!
I AM USING THIS QUOTE FOR BOTH OF MY REVIEWS BECAUSE IT FITS BOTH STORIES SO WELL! HERE IS MY REVIEW OF BOOK 2: SHARPENING HIS BROKEN TALON!
Sharpening His Broken Talon
Living Art 2
by: River Mitchell
reviewed by: Becky
They say that opposites attract and never have those words been truer for Tate and Talon.
Tate, always the life and soul of any party thought he'd reached his peak and that life couldn’t get any better. He had his dream job, an amazing family, a roof over his head and chocolate donuts in his belly. He'd achieved the goals he'd set for himself and couldn't think of anything else he could possible want.
Talon, has spent most of his life trapped in a whirlwind of pain and self-loathing fighting his debilitating memories of the past. Unable to use his voice to communicate he feels lost, alone, and in constant fear of embarrassing those who support and love him.
With Tate's zest for life and Talon's enormous heart, falling in love would be easy. But to reach their happily ever after they are forced to travel a road filled with uncertainty, pain, loss, fear and not a small amount of outside interruption.
You will smile, laugh, cry and shout but ultimately you will understand that sometimes two people are just meant to be.
This book is a true testament to River Mitchell's talent, there is so much going on in this story it would have been really easy for it to become muddled and confusing, but it didn't!
Talon feels broken, he doesn't speak due to the horrors of his past, and you will understand why as you read the story. Talon is due for something good in his life when in walks Tate!
These two men shouldn't work but oh they do, and you will love them as a couple! Things begin to happen that will shock you and test what these two men feel for each other, but never fear, Talon and Tate are strong and will fight tooth and nail to get through the hardships together!
I do have to say there are some shockers in this book toward the end and you will need to read book 3 pretty fast or you will go nuts :P! I love these stories and you will too!
the 5 microphone rating!
I HAVE THE BEST REASON FOR THIS RATING! GRAB THIS BOOK AND FIND OUT WHY!
NOW FOR MY REVIEW OF BOOK 3: UNLOCKING HIS SHUTTER, AND I MUST SAY, THIS BOOK IS MY FAVE OF THE SERIES SO FAR!
Unlocking His Shutter
Living Art 3
by: River Mitchell
reviewed by: Becky
Shutter, a man shrouding in darkness, leads a solitary life. One he is content with, until he witness’s his nephew, Fear, fall in love. Shutter sees what life could be like if he follows the light and opens his heart.
Drake, a man with a mysterious past, has been accepted into a family that helps him escape the nightmares of his childhood.
Together they face every obstacle and with the help of a loving, yet crazy family, they are forced to walk through hell to get to the future they both deserve.
It’s not an easy journey to their happily ever after but once there, both men know it was worth every single step.
As I said this book is my fave, and it is because Shutter is a character I wanted to know much more about since I first read about him!
The book opens with Shutter, a man whose name is linked with violence, rescues people in Fears Tattoo shop, one of which he wants to know more about. Due to his reputation, Shutter can't stick around, but thankfully his story comes to light and Shutter gets closure on a lot of open books in his life.
Drake has a dark past that comes to light in the worst way possible, but with his family and Shutter by his side, he can overcome anything!
This book answers some of our burning questions, but leaves the door open for book 4 to answer more, which I love! Thanks River, for a great series to date, and I can't wait to see what you come up with for the next book!
