TRUST IN HIS MATE PRE-RELEASE REVIEW!!

HELLO FRIENDS, I AM HERE WITH MY PRE-RELEASE DAY REVIEW OF MYSTIC CANADA 1: TRUST IN HIS MATE BY CREE STORM! LOOK BELOW FOR MY REVIEW AND PRE-ORDER LINK: THIS BOOK RELEASES TOMORROW FROM BOOKSTRAND SO YOU WON'T HAVE LONG TO WAIT TO READ IT! LET'S GET STARTED:

YES! THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Trust In His Mate
Mystic Canada 1
by: Cree Storm
reviewed by: Becky

There are traitors within the United Council and it is up to MYSTIC Canada to find out who they are and take them down. If not, all MYSTIC agents around the world could die, leaving the community sector at the mercy of not only the Nefarious but the Councilmen, as well.
Detective Mark Franklin is one of the few born without any gifts. But everyone knows he is the only man that can infiltrate the Council and find out who is behind the attacks on their sister agency.
However, when Xavior makes a comment about a non-gifted man being unable to do the job, Mark becomes infuriated and says he will not mate with a man that has no faith or belief in him.
Can Xavior fix his blunder and earn Mark’s trust back, or will his mate walk into a possible death trap, alone, just to prove a point—and die in the process?

I have been so excited for the start to the Canada Chapter of the Mystic series and boy did this book live up to all my expectations and more! Cree Storm brilliantly transitions the Mystic series to a new location while still including our faves in the mix!

I have loved Xavier and Mark since I met them in the original Mystic series and I was so happy to read their story! Mark knows who his mate is, but it seems like Xavier doesn't want him and thinks he is weak, can Mark believe that his mate sees him as an equal? Just when it looks like it, Xavier puts his foot in his mouth big time, will it cost him dearly?

In addition to their mating problems the Mystic family has a much bigger problem to deal with, they are being targeted, can they win against this powerful enemy? There are so many factors that make up this brilliant story and I can't wait for you to read it! Thanks Cree, for a book 1 in this spin off that lived up to my expectations and then some!

Karl Kringle hates the modern-day Christmas. He was born to be Krampus, but the Holiday Council refuses to let him help his brother Nick—aka Santa Claus—with the Naughty List until he finds his holiday spirit. To meet that challenge, he’s turned human and dumped in a strange apartment.

Lewis Weatherby loves the holidays and always has. Not only do his parents own a pumpkin patch and tree farm, he’s also inherited a Christmas-themed shop. All he wants from Santa is the man of his dreams, and the Big Guy might’ve just delivered. Lewis’s new neighbor Karl is gorgeous, sweet, and has a fantastic sense of humor—if his jokes about being Krampus are any indication.

Soon getting home is less important to Karl than what will happen when Lewis inevitably realizes the truth behind his jokes. He’s finally starting to understand the real joy of the season—now he just has to figure out how to hold on to it.

A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2016 Advent Calendar "Bah Humbug."
QUOTE
Review:
Krampus, otherwise known as Karl, has grown to hate Christmas due to the extra work and strain the Council continues to dump on his brother, Nick’s, shoulders.  And since they won’t let him help, he has grown more and more disgusted with the whole holiday.  In an effort to help Karl find his love of Christmas again, his brother in law Noel, sends him to California for a few months for some R&R, and maybe a chance of love as well.
Lewis can’t believe when the really big, really hot new neighbor moves in.  He’s so tired of the dating game and all of the dud dates he’s had recently, he’s ready to just call it quits on men.  He’d rather work with his family at the pumpkin and Christmas tree farm and run his Christmas store and leave the rest alone, but Karl makes him rethink his feelings on men, at least one man.
This story was cute, funny, sweet, snarky…. All of the feels I want in a Christmas story.  I enjoyed the foundation we received through the story on where the holiday ‘superheroes’ originated and developed.  There were some tears, ok maybe a few more than just some, but they were both sad and happy, with some joyful ones by the end.  The cast of characters in this story were very well done, and I still want to just grab Lizzie, er El now, Sam and Barb up and hug them tight, and hang out with Lewis, Karl, Jerry and Rimble.
This is definitely one of my favorite Christmas shorts.  I can’t wait to read more by Andi Van!
Rating:
The 5 Krampus Ornament Rating, complete with the wrong hooves and crazy tongue.. hang on your tree or your horns….

HAHA GRACE IS SO ON POINT WITH THIS REVIEW, THIS BOOK IS AMAZING, AND I HAVE READ ANDI VAN AND THIS IS MORE OF THE SAME BRILLIANCE FROM THIS AUTHOR! HERE IS THE LINK SO YOU CAN ENJOY KRAMPUS FOR YOURSELF!
Excerpt:
“THAT’S SUCH bullshit,” Karl snarled to his brother as they stomped out of the council’s meeting room. “The same old fucking excuses every single year.” His hooves crashed against the marble floor with a resounding boom, and the dwarfs who were escorting them had to dodge out of the way before they become a gooey mess under the force of Karl’s steps. They glared at him, but he returned the glare with one of his own, and the dwarfs paled. It was something about the horns, he guessed. Or maybe the pointy teeth. Or just the fact that he was three times their height and could turn them into tomato paste on the hard floor.
“It’s not a big deal,” Nicholas said. “I’ve done this for how many centuries?”
Karl came to a screeching halt and turned his glare to his brother. “That’s not the point,” he rumbled, poking his brother in the chest, though he was careful to do it gently, despite his anger. “You shouldn’t be doing it at all. Hell, it works perfectly for us in the few parts of Europe they let me assist with. Why shouldn’t Krampus be able to help out jolly old Saint Nicholas in the United States too?”
Nicholas let out a mournful sigh, shook his head, and turned the full force of his disappointed gaze on his brother. Karl tried not to wince, but it was hard. He hated disappointing Nick.
“You know why,” his brother said. “You hate Christmas. You need to find your holiday spirit before they’ll ever let you help me.”
“Why are they even on the council instead of you?” Karl asked, his voice growing in volume in the hope that the puffed-up idiots in the other room would hear him. “They’ve left you all the damn heavy work. With every year you’re the one with more and more responsibilities. That damn rabbit doesn’t have to judge good or bad. He just drops off eggs and candy and hops away, no matter what kind of brats are on his list. Halloween’s become a night to cause trouble and get hyped up on sugar instead of a time to celebrate the thinning of the veil. But you? Oh no, you get to judge every single child who celebrates Christmas before going out of your way to make them happy. And even when you do, half the time those ungrateful kids whine about how you didn’t give them a damn pony. At least where I get to help you, the kids are afraid if they aren’t good, I’ll take their presents away.”
Nicholas rubbed his face and then dropped his hand to his side. “We’ve been over this,” he said softly. “You’ll get your chance.”
“It’s not about me, Nick,” Karl protested, his voice booming with his anger.
“I’m going home,” his brother said. “We’re not having this discussion again.”
“Nick,” Karl growled, but he stopped when Nicholas looked at him through narrowed eyes. “Fine,” he grumbled. “Tell that diva you married that I said hello.”
Karl was pleased to see Nick’s expression soften, and his brother nodded. “I will. I’ll call you later.”

Karl nodded and waited until his brother and his escorts were out of earshot and then turned around to look at the dwarfs who were still waiting to kick him out. He gave them a toothy grin, leaned down, and roared so loudly that half of them toppled over. The other half ran for it, and there was an odor that followed them out that suggested at least one of them had soiled themself. With a snicker Karl spun around and stomped toward the exit.
HEHE, I LOVE THIS BOOK! THANKS GRACE, FOR ANOTHER TERRIFIC REVIEW! SEE YOU GUYS NEXT TIME!!

BLURB: On a bright autumn day, Flynn Marlowe lost his best friend, a beagle named Barley, while out on a hike in Seattle’s Discovery Park.

On a cold winter day, Mac Bowersox found his best friend, a lost, scared, and emaciated beagle, on the streets of Seattle.

Two men. One dog. When Flynn and Mac meet by chance in a park later that summer, there’s a problem: who does Barley really belong to? Flynn wants him back, but he can see that Mac rescued him and loves him just as much as he does. Mac wants to keep the dog, and he can imagine how heartbreaking losing him would be—but that’s just what Flynn experienced.

A “shared custody” compromise might be just the way to work things out. But will the arrangement be successful? Mac and Flynn are willing to try it—and along the way, they just might fall in love.

HERE IS GRACE'S REVIEW:

QUOTE

I love this quote from Mac, when he realizes that even when someone is gone, their love goes on with you.

Review:

This book has everything, hot guys, sweet dogs, and all of the feels.  Once again, Rick Reed has hit every note.
Flynn can’t believe his eyes when he peers across the park and sees his Barley walking with a hot redhead.  Missing for almost a year, he is scared to believe his eyes but there he is.  But when he says something to the man with Barley, he adamantly denies the dog is Barley.  Of course, Flynn knows he’s lying but what’s he supposed to do?
Mac knows he has done a rotten thing by lying to Flynn, but he can’t stand the thought of losing Hamburger, his best friend.  And when Flynn confronts him again, this time with his friend in tow, what is he supposed to do but let Barley go, even though it breaks his heart?
Watching these two men fall in love is fun and sweet and sometimes awkward, just as it should be.  But when Mac is hit with two medical emergencies, one with the person who is like his family and the other with the one person who is his family, he discovers that maybe his future isn’t what he thought it was, even if he has found love.
Rick Reed never fails to bring tears and angst to go with love and a sweet HEA.

I had to go with the 4 Melted Chocolate Ice Cream Rating.  And hell yeah, I’d be supplying these for Mac every single day!!

Excerpt

Mac turned back, his
hands up like the criminal he felt he was. “What do you want?” he whined. He
wished they’d just go away. But he was resigned to the fact that they weren’t
going anywhere and that he’d have to deal with this situation with Hamburger
sooner or later, whether he liked it or not, for better or for worse. Even if
dealing with it meant his own heart would be ripped in two.

Clara said, “We just
want to take a look at the dog. That’s all. I can give a second opinion. I know
Flynn’s dog Barley very well. And maybe he’s wrong. We’re prepared for that.
But he’s missed his little guy so much, maybe there’s just some wishful thinking
happening on Flynn’s part. That would be understandable. I assume you’re headed
home?”
Mac nodded, feeling like he was backing up to a precipice. He didn’t know which footstep would send him hurtling over the edge.

“Yeah,” he said, a little out of breath. “I rent a room in a house on Green Lake Way.” He closed his eyes. He felt as though the
couple were staring at him. Well, of course they were staring, but staring with
dislike, disgust, whatever. And maybe all that was just Mac himself, projecting
his own feelings of self-loathing.

He looked to the guy,
Flynn, he’d encountered the other day on the trail. Their eyes met, and Mac
noticed how the guy had a little chip missing out of his front tooth. It was an
odd time to take note of such a thing, but it made Mac feel better. The guy had
seemed so perfect, all Irish black hair and blue eyes, the body of an Adonis,
dimples, everything. The flaw humanized him and, in a way, made him sexier.

Why are you even
thinking such a thing? Mac yelled at himself on the inside. The dude’s
obviously here with his girlfriend. He felt bad all over again about deceiving
him. Mac wasn’t ready to tell them the truth about Hamburger—he just couldn’t
bear the thought of it, because surely that would be the end of his relationship
with the dog, and sometimes Mac thought he loved that creature more than he
loved himself—he could at least own up to some of his own truth.

“Your name’s Flynn,
isn’t it?”

The guy nodded, and his
eyebrows came together in obvious confusion. “Mike, right?”

Flynn peered at him
suspiciously, and Mac realized he probably had never believed any of what he’d
told him.
Mac had always had a terrible face for lying. Every emotion was
always cast there in sharp relief. It was both his blessing and his curse.

“No,” Mac mumbled. “My
name’s Mac. Mac Bowersox.” He scraped the toe of his Converse on the sidewalk.
“Maybe you misheard me. Mac, Mike, Max….”
“Sure,” Flynn said
stiffly. “Are you gonna let us come and see the dog or not?’ Do I have a choice? Mac
wondered. Of course he did. One always had a choice. He could be an asshole and
simply refuse. Stand his ground. Try to be a baby and just run from them again.
He shook his head. “The house is, uh, just around the corner down here.” He
gestured toward Green Lake, which shimmered innocently in the summer sun just
below them. Mac thought there should be storm clouds gathering above the water.
He turned away from Flynn and Clara, trying to mentally prepare himself for
what was to come.

Holly & Hockey Boots
by: V.L. Locey

Minor league goalie Adam Seiger is a nice guy. He’s kind, cute, and a little quirky (but show me a goalie who isn’t), and he loves to interact with fans. During a meet-and-greet after a game, Adam meets Cason Reyes, a hard-working young man with stunning gold-green eyes and a smile as sweet as a candy cane. Desperate to see Cason again, Adam does something more than a little naughty.

To add insult to the egg nog, it appears that one little white lie might ruin Adam’s chance of having a merry Christmas with a new boyfriend. Will he end up with nothing but a lump of coal in his stocking, instead of the man who owns his heart?

I knew I would love this story because this author is one of my favorites and boy was I right and then some! You will fall in love with Adam and Cason just like I did!

I don't wanna say to much and give the story away but I will say that you will be hooked on this story from line one!

Adam is a goalie, and he is a sweetheart! You will get a kick out of his pre-game ritual and fall in love with him instantly! When he meets Cason after a game it's game on, but can Adam keep Cason when he was less than truthful in order to see him again?

You will love the outcome of this book, and the road it took for these two to get there! Thanks V.L., for yet another wonderful book I will enjoy again and again!

HEY FRIEND, IT IS DAY 23 OF OUR COUNTDOWN TO THE HOLIDAYS AND TODAY I AM HERE WITH MY REVIEW OF THE ORPHEUM MIRACLE BY PAT HENSHAW! LOOK BELOW FOR MY REVIEW, THE LINK, AND EVEN AN EXCERPT: LET'S GET STARTED!!

I LOVE THIS QUOTE: IT'S SO TRUE AND IS PERFECT FOR THIS BOOK! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

The Orpheum Miracle
Dreamspinner Advent Calendar 2016 "Bah Humbug"
by: Pat Henshaw
reviewed by: Becky

Christmas joy is a matter of perspective. For some, it’s the happiest time of the year. For others, not so much.
Twenty-nine-year-old Mick, the son of crack addicts, isn’t exactly a dyed-in-the-wool Scrooge. Mick’s been on his own from childhood. As a teen, he lived in a shelter, where for a short time he had a boyfriend. After the boyfriend left, Mick moved to the Orpheum Theater. While squatting there and taking care of the grand old building, Mick watched others celebrate the holidays from a distance, never able to share in their merriment.
Only his Technicolor dreams liven his dull, mechanical life until one day the world around him begins to change. Mick is surprised when a man named Jim buys the vintage Orpheum and plans to restore it. Something about Jim makes Mick think they’ve met before. In fact, Jim rekindles Mick’s longing for a better life and a little holiday magic for himself.
A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2016 Advent Calendar "Bah Humbug."

Poor Mick hasn't had it easy at all! He was pretty much responsible for himself for most of his life and it hasn't been wine and roses to say the least. His best memories are time spent in the Orpheum Theater so he moves there when his boyfriend gets lucky enough to leave the shelter they are in.

Mick is existing but not really living and he has come to the conclusion that the Holidays are better left to someone else, then the Orpheum gets a new owner. Can Mick change his opinion about the Holidays after he meets the new owner and hears of his plans?

If Mick opens his heart to the Holidays and more, he may get the biggest shock of his life! This is a great story and a perfect addition to the "Bah Humbug" Advent Calendar! Thanks Pat, for yet another book of yours I really enjoyed!

the 5 row of trees rating :)

THERE IS A REASON I DID THAT RATING FOR SURE! BELOW IS THE LINK TO THIS BOOK, GRAB IT TODAY!

NOW HERE'S AN EXCERPT:

IN EARLY November, a new banner across the Orpheum Theater went up saying: Welcome to Christmas, the happiest time of the year. Coming soon.
Far as I could tell, Christmas was when children danced around like clowns on crack. Besotted parents cavorted around them like ninnies in the stupid race. And the rest of us stood back waiting for the inevitable explosion.
Despite how it started, Christmas had been morphed by the rich into a season of greed. It had nothing to do with whether a kid was good or bad, but how much money his folks had. Take the kids I knew down at the shelter. Shit, they could be as good as little angels, and the best they’d ever get was someone’s cast-off pity, which wasn’t going to do them a damned bit of good when the holiday parade of who-got-what started at school.
All Christmas did, as far as I was concerned, was make poor kids feel worse and rich kids feel more powerful and more ready to rub everyone else’s nose in their misfortune. And we all knew, where you started was pretty much where you ended up in life. The Christmas miracle was a lie that should have been shot in the head and buried eons ago.
Fortunately, here in the bowels of the old Orpheum Theater, the only Christmas merry-makers left were ghosts of vaudevillians, chorus girls, and corrupt managers, and the live help. Those of us who weren’t going from office party to cocktail land were left here to sweep the floors, squeegee jizz off bathroom walls, pry gum from under seats, and oust anything that moved after the doors were closed and locked.
I’ve been called cynical, a Scrooge, a vulture perched and ready to rip the eyes out of the season. It wasn’t true. I was as big a sap as the next guy.
I was working here at the Orpheum, wasn’t I?

NOW DO YOU SEE WHY YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK NOW? I THOUGHT SO! GET IT TODAY FRIENDS! THANKS FOR JOINING ME FOR DAY 23, SEE YOU TOMORROW!
